Caligari Film- und Fernsehproduktions GmbH was founded in 1986 and is one of the leading independent production companies in Germany. Owner and managing director is Gabriele M. Walther.

With THE NIMBOLS, Caligari Film was the first German company to produce a major CGI series and thus entered the international animation business. Caligari Film acquired the rights to many well-known brands such as COCONUT THE LITTLE DRAGON, CAPT'N SHARKY, KNIGHT RUSTY and PRINCESS LILLIFEE and is the market leader in this segment with 10 feature films and over 350 series episodes and has received numerous awards.

Fiction productions include HAUSMEISTER KRAUSE (JANITOR KRAUSE) for Sat.1, Germany's most successful sitcom with 80 episodes, and the feature film HELL, an audience favourite at numerous festivals and winner of numerous awards. Caligari remade PAN TAU, one of the greatest TV classics, for ARD and produced the horror comedy MANDY AND THE FORCES OF EVIL for Amazon Prime Video.

In the factual and non-fiction sector, subsidiary Caligari Entertainment produces primetime documentaries such as TERRA X and FASZINATION UNIVERSUM (FASCINATION UNIVERSE) with Harald Lesch for ZDF, as well as daytime formats such as DER HAUSTIERCHECK (THE PET CHECK) and PRINCESS OF SCIENCE. Caligari Entertainment can also look back on successful docu-soaps such as WINDSTÄRKE 8 and NICHT ZU STOPPEN (UNSTOPPABLE), and its portfolio includes docu-series such as IRISCHER KOMPASS (COMPASS IRELAND) and GARTENPARADIESE (GARDEN PARADISES).
